Yohji Yamamoto went bankrupt

Yohji Yamamoto Spring/Summer 2010 RTW

A Japanese high-fashion brand Yohji Yamamoto went bankrupt in Japan. The recent economic recession and the trend of cheap clothing stores such as H&M and Uniqlo were the major factors that lead to Yohji went bankrupt. Yohji Yamamoto, Issey Miyake and Rei Kawakubo are the main gurus of Japanese fashion. They are not only changing the fashion in Japan but also to Europe and America like Mr. Yamamoto himself, he is known as "Black Poet". The way he used the fabrics and design make him very popular in the 80s to 90s. SO, it is sad to hear this news. The bankruptcy only affects the shops in Japan, other markets will not be affected. That's sort of a piece of good news in the big bad news.

A Master Dies

Photos by Irving Penn
Another master of photography has just died yesterday. Irving Penn (1917-2009), the world leading photographer, contributed to the fashion world by taking many incredible fashion photos for Vogue and models including Kate Moss. His portrait photography also takes people' breath away. Impeccable composition, characters' emotion, facial expression, all the good elements were combined by his shutter. Goodbye Mr.Penn Thank you for giving us so many great things.

Paris Fashion Week Review (LV x Keroro?)

Charater from Keroro
Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2010 RTW

HAHA. Maybe Marc Jacobs is also a fan of "Keroro" I wasn't looking at the clothes but the hair at first. It is so funny, it is exactly looking like Mr.Dasonu Maso from Keroro. What a coincidence, the clothes and the style look a bit like Japanese school girl with a backpack. That proves a little of what I think as well.
According to Mr. Jacobs, high heels will be gone for the next season, so ladies! give your feet e a rest for one season ONLY. Louis Vuitton shoes are so interesting just like an little animal walking with you.
Get a Big Hair for next season!

Miu Miu and Prada

Maybe it is destiny. Family business is family business, you have a lot of things to consider. Just like Miuccia Prada. An interview she did for a Hong Kong Magazine revealed that she can do whatever she want in Miu Miu but not Prada. I really feel that when I saw both of her shows this season. For Miu Miu: lots of delicate details and dreamy fantasy colors, Ms Prada takes us to her dreamy world. and For Prada: simple colors with strong shape and silhouette which is very good though. SO when it comes to "Miu Miu or Prada?" It maybe just a personal preference.

Celine VS Chloe

Phoebe is back! After a wonderful resort collection for Celine, Phoebe continues to deliver another great collection in S/S 2010. However, after taking a break for quite some time. Things changed. Hannah now masters her collection with Chloe and create collection after collection of casual girlish style a.k.a "Phoebe's Chloe Style". And NOW, Celine looks very similar to Chloe. So, Who steals Whose , Who is the boss? Time will tell us.

Milan Fashion Week Review

Dsquared2 Spring/Summer 2010 RTW
The way Dsquared2 style is very chic and fun. Is perfect to walk down on the street with their whole outfit on. Love the "table cloth" wrap around a body with just a belt to stick it on. A sweater matches a long elegant dress with a brown leather belt, that's sophistication mixes casualness.

Milan Fashion Week Review --- Big Shoulder Still?

Iceberg Spring/Summer 2010 RTW
Really? A big shoulder for spring/summer 2010? First of all, not a big fan of shoulder pad (yet still tolerable for tiny little one). SO, kinda have a break down in F/W 09 when I saw loads of shoulders coming toward my face. Just don't know why people like a big board stick on their shoulder? Although the print and the color are nice in Iceberg, PLEASE PLEASE say goodbye to big board shoulder.

Milan Fashion Week Review

Dolce and Gabbana Spring/Summer 2010 RTW
Pretty impressed by Dolce and Gabbana in this collection. Love those very gentlemen, masculine suit but designed in a feminine way with tiny waist. The laces, "the prints+ laces" made beautifully for the dresses. And love those laces short boots. It is perfectly suitable for hot summer yet elegant and match for the outfit. Good Work Dolce and Gabbana.

Wyman Wong X Pedder Red

Sure Wyman Wong (Hong Kong Fashionista) can dress nice, but always wonder could he design? Yes, he can. A recent collaboration with Pedder Red, he is inspired by Martin Margiela, Christophe Decarnin, Oscar de la Renta and Yves Saint Laurent and successfully designed some interesting yet beautiful high-heels. Personally, I really like the one inspired by Oscar de la Renta. There is a little Oscar style cocktail dress at the heel and yet it matches the color of the shoes.Well done!!

Marc Jacobs

Nina Ricci

Fashion is now obsessing "WEIRD" heels, Marc Jacobs, Martin Margiela, Balenciaga, Nina Ricciare the expects of creating weird heels. Let's see what else can they do to women shoes
